Warrior

The American bison, also known as “buffalo” once roamed much of the continent of North America. Do to commercial hunting and the government policy in the 19th century to eradicate the native Americans vital food source, the bison became nearly extinct. Through conservation and breeding efforts their numbers have slowly rebounded from less than 600 animals in the late 1890’s to over 31,000 animals today. This bronze sculpture is an homage to the “Warrior” and steadfast spirit of the bison and what they represent to the history and culture of America.
